GUATEMALA TRIP FEBRUARY 2016

Paso Por Paso directors develop a proposed itinerary for their annual trip to Guatemala. It is sent to Mayan Families in Panajachel and they put everything in place for us. Mayan Families also provide the transportation when needed. Not all Paso members participate in each activity.
Mon. Feb. 8 Depart Toronto at 3:45 pm, arrive Guatemala City around 9:45 pm. Hotel shuttle to the Barcelo hotel.

Tues. Feb 9 Depart Barcelo at 10:30 am (Mayan Families shuttle) and arrive in Panajachel around 1 pm. Check into hotels. Lunch and then go up to Mayan Families to finalize plans for making Valentine’s and ordering the food bags for the next day.
Get supplies for Valentine’s Preparation Session on Wednesday (scissors, glue, paper,etc.)
Order cookies for Wed. and for Mon. Feb. 17 (Micro Loans)

Wed. Feb. 10th
. Making Valentines at Mayan Families headquarters with sponsored students.
Hand out 2015 photos and sponsor material.
Food bags will be provided to each family at the end, cost $60 each.

Thurs. Feb. 11th . Student home visits.

Fri. Feb. 12th Tierra Linda School visit.
Possible skype with Warminster School at the Basico.
Discuss future school needs. Feedback on nutrition and deworming programs.
See water filtration system and the recent improvements to the Tierra Linda Elementary School.
Pick up valentines made for the Warminster school.
Distribute valentines from Warminster and Mnjkining Schools

Tues. Feb. 16th Student Visits in Pana. 1451 Yeimi, 3158 Flora, 2647 Rosanna, 390 Karina, 141 Gladys, ‘ 291 Carlos, 2658 Enma.

Gladis is 16 and lives in Panajachel. She is in grade 10 and is specializing in education in order to be a teacher.

Saturday Feb. 20th. Return flight from Guatemala City via San Salvador to Toronto
