Tierra Linda Primary School will have two new classroom. One of them is funded by a $4000 grant from the Retired Teachers of Ontario. Seven of the eight PASO directors belong to RTO. RTO supports educational projects throughout the province, and abroad.
“We are particularly appreciative of the grant from RTO,” says Patricia Pretty, president of PASO POR PASO. “Enrollment has expanded rapidly since we began helping the Tierra Linda school.” There are now about 65 more pupils in the school.
PASO funded the second classroom from its 2010 promotional efforts in the Orillia area. It is part of its overall mission to upgrade and expand the village school. “It is quite an isolated village, and so our contributions help to expand opportunities for Tierra Linda children,” Patricia says.
